The hospital is constructed on a sensitive site in Lymington, adjacent to a Site of Special Scientific Interest, adjoining the River Lymington and incorporates significant works to overcome the possibility of flooding. With a 12,000m² floor area, the hospital incorporates a Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, an Emergency AssessmentUnit, a Minor Injuries Unit, two operating theatres, two endoscopy suites, imaging suites and audiology suites. The hospital has 99 bed spaces with a large proportion being single rooms, spread over rehabilitation, surgical, medical and birthing
centre wards.
There is an external energy centre utilising the benefit of a back up 1750kVa generator and various low noise ventilation systems installed throughout the building. The services installation focuses on the comfort of the patient by creating a quiet, comfortable and fully integrated building. The comprehensive mechanical and electrical service installation included comfort cooling and air conditioning to critical areas.
